Customer Feedback
This letter came from a fellow roaster and espresso enthusiast:
"Some follow up on your coffee.  I've been working my way thru it.  Absolutely delicious as I expected.  I almost never have luck making espresso with store bought coffee  - I can never get crema worth a damn - I assume because most pre-roasted coffee is god knows how old.  This is true even for "local" roasters like La Colombe (whose blends I don't really like anyway).  This is what pushed me to home roasting - without my homeroast I would have given up on espresso long ago. Yours is the first pre-roasted coffee that gives me the crema that I want (putting aside the Italian robusta blends that taste like rubber tires) and the flavor profile I like too. . ."

Some of our most thrilling and inspiring feedback has been comparisons to the "big roasters" out there.  Here is one example:
"We kicked the Serendipity over the Christmas weekend with my family and am still enjoying the Yirg as a drip (very nice lemony and bright flavors...never had that in a cup before).  My brother got me some coffee from Vivace as an x-mas gift which we are using right now as espresso.  I'd say your coffee compares very well and can hold up with them any day.  Your Serendipity is very similar to the Dolce IMO."

And another:
"As a very regular Intelligentsia customer I am both happy and surprised to say that your Serendipity compares very well in quality to their blends. I especially love the Serendipity.  Also another favorite of mine is Liquid Amber. Your Signature is very similar but it has a finishing sweetness that actually makes it better. Kudos!"

And another:
"I love Barefoot roasters but I don't like ordering from CA. Now I love Red Dog and you're right up I-95. Cool. Oh yeah, I like your coffee better too. ;)"

We are just so proud of what we do and equally happy that our customers appreciate the effort so let's gild the lily a bit:

"Your coffee is excellent. Just this morning my family was commenting on how good the coffee tasted (Serendipity Americanos made in our superautomatic). . .Thanks for roasting and getting it out so quickly."

GC

"I received the coffee today. It made a fantastic cup of drip also an excellent "Espresso" style in the Aeropress. I will most certainly be ordering from you in the future."

AT

"Thanks for the lightning fast response. I love the "Roasted On:"  date on the bag.  A very professional and satisfying transaction."

Ok enough.  Almost.  This is not exactly a testimonial in the traditional sense, but in another sense it is the best testimonial I have ever gotten.  This is a true story.

For a few weeks before the holiday season I personally made rounds to business customers and went on some cold sales calls.  One afternoon I went into a mortgage broker's office.  There was one person in the office and she said that she was indeed a major fan of coffee and in fact only drinks the best that money can buy. Some conversation later and she agreed that my coffee could be very good because it was so fresh. She bought a bag.

Two weeks later, I was in the area and stopped by her office.  As soon as I walked in she clapped her hands excitedly.  I asked her what she thought (although her reaction to my entrance made it obvious.)  I expected her to say, "It was great, I'll take another bag."  While she did say, "it was great," she did not say, "I'll take another bag."   She said, "That is by far the best coffee I have ever had and I want to buy some for all of my customers.  I'll take 72 bags!"

When I delivered it to her the next day, she treated me like a hero.

This is why I roast coffee.
